Product Review: California Tan

12:00 PM

As we get closer to winter, we have all taken note of our fading summer tans. What if I told you, you could still keep some of your summer glow without the harmful effects of the sun? Your answer is only two simple words: California Tan.

I've always been hesitant to try "self-tan" products because I was afraid I would either look orange or streaky. No one wants to be either of those.  After trying California Tan’s products, I can honestly say all my self-tan fears have been put to rest. Their products break up into three easy to use steps.

Step 1 ~ Body Buffer Exfoliator

During any self-tanning process one of the most important steps is to exfoliate before. The California Tan Body Buffer Exfoliator is a gentle scrub made with fine volcanic stone and its clean scent made this my favorite step. This exfoliator leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, while also creating the perfect canvas for the tanner.

Step 2 ~ Instant Sunless Mousse

Unlike the other tanning products I've used in the past, this tanning mousse has many undertones insuring more of a natural color. Within the first application, I noticed how easily this product blended. The coloring made it easy to see where it was being applied, which helped avoid streaks. After you apply it to your skin you have the option of waiting 1-3 hours, this helps you gauge you tan preference. This works great for any skin tone.

Step 3 ~ Tan Extend Post Spray

This product is applied after the application of the tanning mousse. The spray bottle makes it easy to apply and helps give your skin an extra boost of energy.

Overall, I love the California Tan tanning trio. All the products were extremely easy to use and gave my skin a long-lasting natural glow. I’ve teamed up with California Tan and we’ll be giving away some of the products featured in this post.
